How 'bout dem Saints? Great Super Bowl yesterday and I don't care who you are or what team you root for, it was nice to see the city of New Orleans have something positive happen to them. And has there been a more touching moment anywhere on TV in recent days than Drew Brees with his baby son on the podium after the game? OK, besides Dave Letterman and Jay Leno calling a truce long enough to make that hilarious commercial with Oprah...
Speaking of the commercials, according to those who voted on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kncipatandtom), the favorite was the Dorito's ad with the young kid who tells the guy dating his mom to leave his Doritos and his mom alone. Runners-up: Betty White getting t-boned in a sandlot football game and the "Green Police".
Tomorrow on the show, we've got more of those "Mega Tickets" we talked about this morning. Basically, Sleep Train is offering a package deal to see all the country shows coming to their venue this summer, including Brooks and Dunn, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and, maybe, Brad Paisley. And, this is pretty cool: Chef Davin, who was one of the judges, told us after the show that he will be cooking for Michelle Obama mid-March, at the White House. As a chef, he said there is no higher honor. He promises to come back in the week prior and present us with whatever it is he will be cooking for her, which will be something healthy since it's to promote better eating for kids. But that's alright. Guys like Davin can make healthy stuff taste good.
